Kia Carens : KIA’s New MUV CARENS to be Launched in 2022
The most awaited car from the South Korean Carmaker KIA is likely to introduce its new MUV Carens in India soon. The booking of this car is likely to start in the month of January. This is Kia’s latest offering and fourth in India after Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet. With a good reputation and encouraging sales figures of existing models, the new Carens is also expected to perform well in the market.
As per company sources, Carens will be the first car from KIA with three-row seats in India. It will be manufactured in the Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. The MPV is likely to get both petrol and diesel engine options initially.
The vehicle has a contemporary design with some cutting-edge features and technology. The MUV comes with sporty alloy wheels, side sills and black cladding, chrome garnished door handles, turn indicator integrated wing mirrors with triangular wraparound LED taillights, bumper with black cladding, chrome trim, and a sculpted tailgate.

When it comes to safety Kia Carens MPV gets six airbags, ABS, ESC, HAC, VSM, DBC, BAS, all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, and Rear parking sensors available across variants as standard. Kia Carens will be offered with a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters in combination with the turbo
The car will be available in seven color options namely Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Intense Red, Aurora Black, Sparkling Silver Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl.
The price of KIA Carens is expected around 15 to 20 lakhs depending on the model.

Kia will be announcing the prices of the Carens MPV for the Indian market next month in February. Pre-launch bookings have been underway online and across dealers since January 14 for a token of Rs 25,000.
There will be five trim levels available for the MPV: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus. All of them come with seven seats as standard, while the top-spec Luxury Plus can also be ordered with six seats. Three of the eight paint options available for the Carens—Moss Brown, Dazzling Silver, and Imperial Blue—are unique to the MPV.

With a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, a digitised driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, and ventilated front seats, the Kia Carens will be equipped with all of these features.
Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill descent control, and tyre pressure monitoring.

The 1.5-liter gasoline and diesel engines with 115 PS and the 1.4-liter turbo-petrol will power the Carens. All three come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, and an automatic transmission is also an option for the turbo-petrol and diesel engines.

The Carens is likely to be priced from Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, and it’ll rival the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Mahindra Marazzo, and select variants of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
