Longest Bridge in India Inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi

It was a dream come true for the people of North East on the eve of three years of BJP Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Dhola – Sadiya Bridge length 9.15 Km which has also the longest bridge in India after Bandra Worli Sea Link. PM Modi, in his speech addressed the nation from Dhola in Assam, and dedicated the bridge to the nation, the occasion was attended by Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Governor of Assam Banwari Lal Purohit and cabinet minister Nitin Gadkari.
The new bridge was one of the most challenging project developed by Indian government which gained Momentum. It is being built on the river Lohit which is a tributary of Brahmaputra. The bridge will be acting as a life line for the people of Arunachal Pradesh. It will enhance  the transport and communication between two states as to reach Anini in Arunachal Pradesh will be shorter by 165 Km and cut short the journey by 5 hours.

The bridge is also strategically important for the nation as it will also serve as an advantage for defence forces of the country to tackle any threat from the neighboring country. This bridge is capable to bear the weight a heavy fighter tanks up to 60 Tonne, if required during emergency.

In his concluding speech while addressing the nation PM Modi dedicated the longest bridge in India and named after legendary singer Bhupen Hazarika considered as an icon of the North East.

The Bridge will be a Major Milestone for the people in the north eastern region of the country.
